  • National Organization for Rare Disorders, Inc. (NORD)--this federation of over 140 not-for-profit voluntary health organizations offers a database of understandable medical information on rare diseases as well as an online newsletter.
  • Office of Rare Diseases (ORD)--A site designed by the National Institutes of Health for patients, health care providers, and research investigators it includes information on over 6,000 rare diseases, current research, and support groups.
